It was bad enough that those thugs were convicted. So many other war criminals are coddled and protected. They had ironclad evidence and the offense was so bad they were brought to justice.

But antifa is the real problem.

They were also brought to justice under the Obama administration which had a open distain for contractors and military defending themselves.

Also maybe Blackwater thought that this was going to happen to them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Fallujah_ambush

Yep, the US gets away with committing war crimes and the fact that these psychopaths were convicted in the US must tell you something.

Did you ever serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, did you ever see what VBIED does to people, or have you gone to a site to help try and sort through debris to help try an locate body parts?

In fact, to this day, media accounts make it sound as if the “Blackwater guards” randomly “open(ed) fire” on Iraqi civilians— unprovoked and for no reason. But Prince says that sorely lacks context: the Raven 23 team thought it had come under ambush trying to escort the US official to safety.

Erik Prince: A car bomb had gone off. And the support team, Raven 23 was to block the traffic circles so the fleeing vehicles can move through there, uh, smoothly. All the vehicle stopped except for one which kept coming and coming and coming. It was a white Kia.

The Blackwater team reported the white Kia was driving straight at the convoy like a suicide bomber. When it kept going despite verbal orders and hand signals to stop, at least one Blackwater guard fired— killing the driver and his mother. Iraqis began firing back and a full-blown firefight broke out. Reba and Darrell Slatten are the parents of one of the Blackwater guards: Nick Slatten.

Sharyl: So your understanding is that car to them was seen as a threat. So maybe that, maybe, maybe a car bomb.

Darrell Slatten: That's what it was. So ‘stop, stop, stop.’ Keeps coming.

Reba Slatten: They had been actually a brief that morning: ‘Be on the lookout for a white Kia because it's probably a car bomb.’

Obama doesn't have the power to tell courts to convict someone. Judicial power is independent. That's why a bunch of Trump's close friends got convicted while he was president and then he pardoned them.

Yes, I am defending them because I was over in Iraq right before this happened and understand the complexities of what went on. Also according to the Iraq government the guards fired onto a white sedan after they crept on their position and after the ROE were followed. This led to the IA/IPs to fire on them mistakenly and they fired back thinking that they were being fired on by insurgents.

I do have compassion for the victims but it was a poop hole all the way around tbh with you. Also have you ever seen the result of what happens after a VBIED goes off?

So why did the court convict them then?

so you inspected the bodies of all the dead to determine that?

We trust that the courts have done their job, I don't need to inspect every body of every victim.

I expected some Trump apologist stuff but I thought even hardcore Trumpers would admit he was wrong but it doesn't matter or something. I wasn't prepared for people to defend psychopathic mass murderers that were found guilty by US courts. But I guess Iraqi lives don't matter

History is full of controversial pardons from Presidents.  This one is hardly the most outrageous.

I'm anti war, so I'd never serve in any war.

Interesting, Trump was also anti-war.  With Biden, that remains to be seen.

gee, number 4..............

4. 1971: Nixon frees Lt. William Calley

President Richard Nixon in 1971 ordered the release of Lt. William Calley, the only person convicted in connection with the 1968 massacre of villagers by US troops in My Lai, South Vietnam.

Actually the administration can and did such things. For example the Marine Scout Snipers or how about the Mohammed video?

bla bla bla... You are woke "anti-war" person that doesn't know what happens during complex situations for example Iraq. I was there with the Marines, seeing combat, and watching my buddies get blown up because followed BS ROEs. All the while the Iraqis never followed them at all. I have seen kids get shot for digging a IED hole not more than 5 feet where a similar IED took off the legs of a friend of mine.

So forgive me if I am not sympathetic.
