I thought I might share my story about our interview. It was the interview for the 601.

My husband's interview was originally scheduled in April. He was on the train from Sale to Casa when the bombing happened. The Consulate called him while he was still on the train and told him that the appointment would be postponed for a week. It was that weekend that another bombing happened near the Consulate that closed them down for two months. We were SICK!!!! The Monday that they opened back up, they called Hicham and told him that his interview was had been rescheduled for June 12th.

I have to stop there and tell you what else was going on. My father passed away suddenly back in October. The stepmonster (3rd wife) had withheld my father's ashes and my inheritance (she is the executor of the estate) saying that I had to wait until the estate closed before she would give me anything. It has been almost 8 months. Several days before Father's Day, I was really angry that she wouldn't give me my father's ashes (he wanted me to have them) especially for Father's Day. The day before Hicham's interview, I get this email from her that I could come to her work and get everything. The night before all of this, I was a basket case and needless to say, I didn't sleep a wink.

Hicham was to call me as soon as he got home, because he couldn't take a phone to the Consulate. I had a close friend to drive me to the stepmonster's work. Would you believe that the EXACT second that the car came to a stop, Hicham called. He proceeded to tell me that his interview couldn't have gone better! And guess what, he even had the "evil, mean" lady that interviewed him the first time that didn't even look at his file. She was very nice to him and even commented on how cute our son was. I had to hear about the interview, so my friend went and got everything for me so that I didn't even have to see the stepmonster!

For all of the worry and anxiety that I had...it was all over in just moments. It's impossible to not worry about the outcome because so much depends on these interviews. But you just have to be strong and ride it out and know that you can deal with whatever comes.

I know for me that my dad was looking down on us that day working his heavenly magic! I miss you and love you so much daddy!

Just thought I would share that. :)
