I'm sure this has been asked many times but I am not sure what it will mean for me. I went to visit my girlfriend who is now my fiancée in the Philippines for 2 weeks back in July of 2019. My k1 visa petition is still at the nvc along with many others. July of 2021 will have been 2 years since I have been able to visit her. I would have gone earlier this past year but of course the covid 19 epidemic kept that from happening. My question is if nothing is able to be done through no fault of my own, will I have to file a new petition or does the US embassy in the philippines waive that issue because of the pandemic? My petition has been at the nvc since around mid June of this year and of course everyone knows the story there. I just wonder if I will have to refile the petition or not worry about it.

You satisfied the 2 year requirement as in you met within 2 years of FILING THE PETITION.   Relax.

I was wondering the same for our case since me and my fiance have seen each other for the last time in March 2020. And it has been almost a year, but yeah, we filed in May 2020 and I hope for him to come to Belgium this year.

The requirement is ONCE in two years before your filing of the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) application. Your embassy is not a difficult embassy so you should be fine. There are other embassies, such as those from Africa and middle eastern areas that look for more visits as a yardstick to measuring the couple's commitment to each other. These countries have a history of visa fraud and so they are scrutinized more so than others.

You will be fine with only one meeting.

Thank you! I am not really worried, just hypothetically thinking about it, I overthink everything🙃 Plus, we met when I was in the USA on my J-1 visa, so we met multiple times, traveled and even lived together, so yeah.. But the question of the OP already crossed my mind several times so I it good to know the answer just in case))
