Hi all, I am a March filer from KCMO. My interview is in 2 weeks, exactly. Back during lockdown, my timeline had initially shown July, then August, Sept, October, only to disappear and never appear until pretty much today. Now the timeline shows Sept 2021.

Meanwhile the field office at KCMO jumped from an estimated 5-8.5 months, first to 6-10 months, to eventually 11.5-18 months. It strikes me that the Sept 2021 is based off of this estimate and is adding 18 months to March.

But I worry that USCIS may be expecting another shutdown due to the mutation arriving in the US.

IFF I can successfully go to the interview, I am reading the oath often takes place a month after which would be Feb, say March '21. So, why the sept 2021 expectation on my timeline?

Anyone who can chime in with similar occurrences -please do. This is quite vexing.

Don't worry, those timelines are meaningless. I completed my naturalization process in November 2020 and my timeline still shows as July 2021. So don't read too much into it and prepare well for your interview. GoodLuck to you.

Thank you ! I wasn't sure whether to put a heart emoji or a laughing /crying one for this post. That's too funny! I intuited that it's most likely reflecting the local field office's timeline and I read someone else's comment to that effect.

yes, back to studying!

Estimates are just that

Adil applied in June 2018 and Biometrics about 2 weeks later in Atlanta

so,  we thought Atlanta was handling his case

timelines on immigration site said 18.5 to 21.5 months

and he was called for interview in Nashville and sworn in in October 2019  15 months after

and now with covid delays    who knows?

Congratulations on your scheduled interview. The timeline is just for estimation and does not necessarily have any impact on your completion. You might have your oath ceremony on the same day depending on your field office and received your certificate same day. So, prepare for the final journey of the immigration process like its the first one!!!! Congrats!!!!
