Hello,

I have a question regarding what number to put as my annual income on the I-864 affidavit of support. For context I was working for an organization until September of this year. Thus, from Jan-Sep of this I was receiving a set monthly salary from my former employer. However, I left the organization at the beginning of September and am now working as an independent contractor and therefore do not have a set monthly salary. I was advised not to put my annual income as it was under my former employer. What amount should I put?

try this way

take out an old 1040 plus the Schedule C and pencil the figures out

that would be a good way to see your income

as an independent contractor it is a small business and you also should have applied for a business # and do the quarterly tax estimates
