Is the US embassy in San Salvador taking appointments for interviews or have they suspended appointments for k1 visas

A quick Google search to the embassy website indicates they are still closed to routine visa services

Yes, they are working on K1s interviews, i would recommend to call them that's how I got my interview scheduled.

Hi Andres what phone number did you call? I tried calling NVC but all they tell me is to wait until the embassy contacts me for an interview

It's out of the hands of NVC. Your embassy is now has jurisdiction over your case. You should be a part of the conversation for your region where others with "boots on the ground" experience can answer your questions concerning your embassy. To get to the sub-forum for your region, go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about three-fourths of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

Did you have packet 4? Did you have to schedule your medical before getting an interview appointment?

No, I didn't receive the package 4 I just scheduled the medical and then contacted the embassy they gave me a interview date 5 days after that.

So I am guessing the key is clearing the medical and then calling the embassy. Because on the website they show no interview times.

I'm going to answer my own question here. We got an interview! I believe the trick is following all the instructions and getting interview ready. That means completing the medical. Paying the MRV fee. Etc. And then we emailed the embassy to let them know all we needed was an interview.

On the ustraveldocs website that we have been checking for months there were no interviews until after we completed the medical and I am assuming they had the medical report.

Also we read that the last week of the month is when they populate interview slots on the ustraveldocs website.

all these things lined uo for us.

1. Medical completed and embassy received the medical report.

2. We emailed embassy notifying we were ready for interview.

3. Checked ustraveldocs website on Monday of the last week of the month.

Hi,

Did you call the embassy and say anything specific? Every time we call if we can get ahold of someone, they refer us to the ustraveldocs site to make our appointment on our own.
