Anyone had trouble using assets only for i-864 instead of joint sponsor?

We are trying to find out recent trends at NVC for evaluating domicile and OAS for petitioner living in Canada with the beneficiary. We are in a situation where we do not have a co-sponsor but have 10x required assets in bank accounts. I have following questions:

1. I am curious if you/anyone you know/saw on VJ faced trouble at NVC when trying to only use assets for i-864, and no co-sponsors?

2. If the petitioner is not domiciled, and tries to prove "intent to reestablish domicile", does NVC discount any savings/assets for such petitioner and force them to provide a co-sponsor?

3. Have you ever seen a case where NVC forced the petitioner to move back before they accepted all documents?

4. Have you ever seen a case where NVC forced the petitioner to move back and get a U.S. job before they accepted all documents?

For #2, I have found one member here who was forced to get a co-sponsor since she was not living in the U.S. Thanks in advance for sharing your advice!

NVC forces you nothing, it is your responsibility to establish US domicile. You can use assests for NVC document qualified, then at embassy's interview, the IO would tell you to get joint sponsor, it happens alot.

I know how i works for majority of the cases, but thank you for mentioning it again. However, yes, NVC can most definitely "force" you as in they wont accept the documents until you do certain things. Please see this link where the petitioner was pretty much forced to move back to the U.S. and get a job -

I believe it depends on documents' examiner. I got DQed and I was living in Saigon.
