Next, Infidel will solve famine by suggesting that people move to where the food is...

Common sense really for most other poor people around the world.

So many people migrated to countries like the US and AUS with little more than the clothes on their back and have built a great life for their family. They left their family and friends and took a huge risk migrating to another country. A country which had little to no similarities to their own and had to overcome a huge language barrier.

So you tell me, what excuse do people have to congregate in cities while so many others bust their chops and eventually build a life for themselves?? How so many Indian families bust their chops sending their kids to school. Then only to see their kids move to another country to find a job.. That is reality. A reality check that many whiners in the US need.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Come to think of it animals seem to have no issue with doing what you alleged I would 'suggest'. And they're stupid.

Same applies with migration and farming in countries like AUS. One must move to fertile areas to survive. Common sense really; even for an animal..

Cool. Dear Mexicans, Infidel says if you're hungry go to where the food and jobs are. But do it legally! Or like a Canada goose. Wait, animals don't have to respect international borders?

Do you have a resolution for the Iraq war? "If there are bombs falling on your head, Infidel say: move!"

"I burned myself - its that low quality instant coffee! Damn me, if I weren't so poor that I could afford the good stuff"

Animals often aren't prevented from "moving to where the food is", by say... militias who want to starve the people out; or who take the food out for their hands...

Mandatory minimums are dumb, just like zero tolerance policies in schools. Mandatory minimums tie the judge's hands; poor Jean Valjean can't get a break if it's his third baguette. In keeping with my general policy against asinine legislation, I'm against tying the hands of the smart people we pay to use discretion.

The relationship between law and punishment is quite complex. Retribution is an important aspect of it, but I think the most important function of law is to segregate someone from society when they're damaging it by ignoring the rules.

Exactly.

Gary, we have separation of powers and thank God the Founding Fathers of this country had such foresight - to prevent power to be concentrated. You give way too much leeway to the legislative and executive branches of government while seemingly dismiss the judicial branch as irrelevent.

Never mentioned anything about legal or illegal. What I did say is move to place where you can find a job to get out of poverty.

I did not make any assumption about the cause and solutions to famine. The great Caladan is responsible for that. Militias aside, humans for example migrated out of Africa to other lands for a reason..

Does not matter how many are there. People migrate for a reason and usually that is survival and to improve their life. Whereas we have a situation in the US where people in poverty refuse to do anything to better their life and would rather play the blame game. On top to that, after the 60's so many conveniently used poverty as an excuse to commit crime & violence, gang bang, rape, murder, sell drugs etc.. They are not stealing to eat. These are people earning up to $50,000 a week selling drugs and extorting people while their neighborhoods turned to ######. That is a choice.

I never saw anyone poor gang banging in India, China, Vietnam, Egypt, Lebanon, Albania, Thailand.

So whats your solution to the "African problem"?

So whats your solution to the "African problem"?

I want to help the people living in the US first.

The first step is to educate them and try to provide financial incentives for them to move out of ghettos into paying jobs, wherever that may be. For them to look up to people like Oprah rather than some hoodlum gangster rapper.

Unfortunately Katrina proved some do not give a ###### about improving their life and where more than happy to abuse the handout they received. Yes another off-topic interesting fact which has not been properly addressed because it would be racist. Yet we apparently have no issue calling everyone else racists and demanding their continued punishment for slavery, even though less than 1.5% of Americans where actual slave owners. But hey that is an inconvenient truth..

If it is possible to read that as not racist, then I would be shocked. Second, you do realize that many of the country's poor people live in rural areas? Or not in "ghettos"? Each post you make, I doubt more and more that you've ever been to the United States at all.
