I'd suggest you pose your question to some people actually in poverty and see what they tell you - rather than relying on your one-size-fits-all generalisations about what is wrong with society.

Nothing wrong with society but the attitude within certain cultures.

"culture" is part of "society"

He meant "subcultures".

Which comes with the good and bad.

Unfortunately in the US it is a taboo to be critical of anyone who is poor and African American. As they are automatically "stereotyped" as being racist.

yes

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

You’re not being ‘stereotyped’ – I’m holding your statement about Africa up for the ridicule that it deserves.

Subcultures are part of society too

What is the point being made?

Adding foreign nationals to overcrowded jails which you and I would be paying for their upkeep.

Prison or not You & I Already ARE PAYING FOR THEM in tune of 10 Billion + / year I disagree with jail or prison instead hold them IMMEDIATLY accountable by deportation and enforce the 5-10 year Bans. Or give the countries that we currently offer support to , a big fat Bill, subtract the amount of foreign aid we give to them from the cost their illegal citizens are burdening our economy.

After all their govts. encourage such behavior.

When are you going to give the source of this 10 billion figure you keep brandishing about? or are you afraid of the rest of us breaking it apart and showing you how inaccurate it is?

Yes it does, otherwise you have no point.

While they may cost the government some, they do promote growth in other parts of the economy, which leads to more money through corporate taxes and other income taxes. If they cost anything, the cost is displaced by economic growth. So until you show your source, you have no point and your argument is meaningless.

Thus, low-skill immigrant households received nearly three dollars in benefits and services for each dollar in taxes paid.” [emphasis added]

Now multiply that by millions upon millions of illegal aliens. While I don’t find this finding surprising, three dollars in benefits for every one dollar paid into the system (assuming illegals are actually paying taxes as most of them are likely not, making this even worse) should be a distressing revelation to those who are detrimentally on the fence with this issue, but it should also exist as a pre-apocalyptic kicker to the open borders lobby. If their desire is to seek the ruin of the United States by importing the world’s poverty, then it seems clear the immigration legislation currently under debate would be the way to do it.

Still, the delay of a vote on the legislation postponed until after Memorial day is a win for America, and can doubtlessly be attributed to all of the legal citizens who called in and voiced their displeasure over this travesty of ‘law.’ This does not mean we can rest. It simply means we have more time to keep calling and more time to keep pestering our elected officials–more time to bully them into killing this immigration reform perversion.

I am starting to seriously question who would do the work if anyone illegal where to be thrown out. We know the inner city poor will not do the work as they would have already have done so if they wanted to.

Welfare pays better! And no manual labor involved! Do away with the welfare and maybe they'll get their lazy arses working! ;)

Exactly the point - also that some of those employers are willing to pay the illegals piss-poor wages that would be illegal were they being offered to a regular USC.

Bullshit! They just do not want to work. I have a friend who is a recruitment specialist in Norfolk who was saying how difficult it is to hire someone from that community. Even when they offer to pay for their training and pay them 'while' they are training they are not interested. I wasn't born yesterday.

JoeMama has a good point. I always see these guys conveniently use EBT buying DVDs etc while we work our asses off to buy a coke. Only difference is that I do not cry whenever things do not go my way or I have to work. Technically I am a minority considering that there are only 90,000 Australians in the US. Where are my benefits?? Give me! Give me! Give me! Give me! Annoying right..

Edit: I obviously know this does not apply to everyone but the problem is there. Just not talked about..

Welfare recipients should be made to work any job available.
