Planning to bring my parents using B2 visa

I am planning to bring my parent here in the US using b2 visa and I have a few questions.

For the purpose of the trip, I am planning to make an invitation letter stating the reason why I would like them to come to the US as tourist. Is that enough evidence for this item? or are there any helpful documents that I or my parents can prepare? They do not currently work because of COVID.

My husband (US citizen) and I (green card holder) are the ones who will financially support them during their stay here in the US and so I wanted to ask what documents can we submit as an evidence on this matter?

 Thank You.

Which embassy? Almost no embassies/consulates are currently processing B visas.

The visa officer will be less interested in why your parents want to visit, than why they will return home before their authorized tourist stay expires. Not having jobs is not helpful to that, do they own a home, run a business, etc?

Separately if they do manage to get visas and travel make sure you have travel insurance for them that explicitly covers Covid and related treatment.

I am actually planning to pay for the entire trip until their return to the Philippines..another question is since I am one paying for the trip, do they need to show any proof of financial capacity ( which they don’t have since it all coming from me) or should I provide the evidence, give it to the to show it to the embassy...  in which case what kind of evidence can I provide my parents...thank you

Unfortunately, the US Embassy has been closed for months and is not processing regular tourist visa applications until further notice. You can find all the relevant news, procedures and list of requirements here:

Visas | U.S. Embassy in the Philippines

The only tourist visa exception is if your parents already had B1/B2 visas in the past. In this case, they can renew the visas through a dropbox, without needing an interview: Visa Update: Interview Waiver Program for Nonimmigrant Visas | U.S. Embassy in the Philippines

However, based on your questions here, doesn't seem like they've had these visas before?

When are they thinking of applying, I thought Philippines was under lockdown.

As a general comment even if you intend paying for their trip better for them to show they have adequate funds.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/wait-times.html

Manila lists 999 days for B visas. Per the website, “A wait time listed as "999 calendar days" indicates that the Consular Section is only providing that service to emergency cases.  Please check the Embassy or Consulate website for further information.”

When do they expect to be working again, that would help.

How long are they looking to visit?

Well seems a long shot but they only have the fee at risk.

6 months.. not sure yet when they’re going to go back to work...

As soon as IO knows you pay, forget about it. They will have to prove they can afford it.
