Hi! I have recieved a new notice with a 24 month extension period. At first I was confused but I pulled out the old notice and it says 18 months on it.

I didn't know it was coming, have anyone else recieved it? LIN center. First notice date was in February, now I apparently have a new one from October as the new notice states.

Is that a normal part of the process?

Edit:

Just found this:

Yes, they are now extending expired 2 year cards by 24 months... crazy stuff. I think extension letters used to only be 12 months, then went up to 18 months, and now 24 months. Just goes to show how much the process has slowed down and I751s usually don't seem to be high-priority. At least we're covered until May 2023.  LIN center is really slow, it looks like currently Dec 2020 petitions are being processed based on recent reports. We were hoping to be done with the process by the end of this year, but it's not looking likely now.

Seeing how slow LIN is compared to Texas makes me want to cry...  I keep stalking the other month's spreadsheets for hope!

(Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope!)

Edit: Though, at least it looks like LIN is keeping up with the new filings.  They're not jumping ahead of everyone else, but they are having steady movement.  And, someone else in January just got their approval yesterday.

I had my biometric appointment in August. Since then I have been checking that website every single morning to see... your green card is being processed . But no not yet. It's almost a year now and it's really hard to wait. Anyone received a greencard or interview yet? Or even the 24 months extention letter.

Some of us have gotten the 24 month extension letter, but not everyone.

Which center is processing your case?  Most of the centers are going pretty slow.  None of us from Nebraska (LIN), for example, have gotten our green cards or an interview yet.

Hey everyone. I just received another notice that they are extending his two year green card for another 2 years. EAC is Vermont I believe. If they were gonna do that they might as well have just sent the 10 year card in the mail. Has anyone else received an extra extension early?

In your confirmation letter, you should have received a receipt number beginning with 3 letters.  Those letters are the code letters for which service center is processing your case.

HI. My case got approved today(WAC)

I moved to the States from Guam in the last month and informed my new address to USCIS(18th October),
got 24 month extension letter around 20th October as well.

I have no idea what became trigger of my case...
but I'm thinking It maybe because I used military helpline to tell them my new address.

Anyway,24 months extension letter doesn't mean we have to wait another 24 months.

Waiting totally sucks. Stay strong.
