Still have not received SSN

Hello everyone, my ead approved on 11/23 and received the card on 12/11, but I still have not received my SSN. I indicated on my I-765 form that I authorized USCIS to share my information to SSA to issue my SSN, after 2 weeks waiting there still nothing get. I had called SSA through national 800 number, but the customer service agent only gave me the SSA's phone number which near my neighborhood. However, I noticed that there are three SSA in Houston(nw, sw and se), sw(where I live) and nw are closed because of COVID, only se office is open.

My question is can I make an appointment of se office even though I'm not live there? or I should keep waiting patiently?

I feel frustrated and hope somebody can give me advice to help me😔, following are the things happened on me because I don't have SSN

1. Chase Bank rejected my spouse to put my name under his bank account to make a joint bank account

2. Leasing office rejected my spouse to put my name under his lease

3. T-mobile rejected me to change my phone bill's name from my spouse name to mine

4. Blue Cross Blue Shield rejected my spouse to put my name under his health insurance

5. DMV not allow me to get driver license

6. No employers want to give me interview chance after they know I still have not received SSN

You can get your ssn anywhere.

- For the bank, go to another branch.

- For the lease, it's up to them to accept it or not.

- For the health insurance, you can only do it 1 or 2 months after getting married or during open enrollment period. You don't need a SSN and can give them a placeholder number.

- Never tell the company you don't have a SSN. You don't need one to start working, it will just delay your paychecks. They shouldn't even request proof of work authorization until there's an offer on the table, you accept it and you fill out an I-9. I applied to my current job before I even had my EAD.
