details for naturalization

My husband and I were married while living abroad on military orders in 2016 (I have maintained a residence in the US this entire time, have filed taxes, we filed taxes jointly etc.)

He received his conditional green card status in June of 2018 (still abroad on military orders)

The physical green card never arrived in the mail and when we tried to move back to the US after my military contract ended September 2019 he was not able to enter the country because he did not have green card in hand (original entry permit had expired)

Green card finally arrived early 2020 and we moved back March 2020 (although military orders ended Sept 2019)

Since we were abroad on military orders and then only not let back in the country due to the green card that never arrived - (but have filed joint taxes and maintained a resident address in the US since our marriage in 2016) would we be able to apply for naturalization as of 2016 marriage, 2018 conditional resident status, 2020 physically located in the states status, or unknown permanent resident status (awaiting permanent green card presently so 2020 or 2021)?

I basically have no idea when we can start applying. Any insight?

Have a look at his green card, it is “Resident since ...” date that matters. 3 years from it if filing on marriage based.

Is that his conditional green card date or do we have to wait for the permanent green card?

Conditional and permanent cards have that same date.
