I saw on my case status that they are sending me a SECOND RFE :(

I am guessing they didn't like that I didn't submit the unobtainable documents from India. I guess I will wait for the letter and go from there. I guess the good news is that they sent a new request rather than just deny my application AND they responded a week after receiving my initial RFE documents.

But now I'm stuck in an RFE loop - what fun!

:( A second one?? Jeez.  I sure hope you can settle it quickly - you've been waiting such a long time already!  Like you said though, at least they didn't outright deny it...  Hoping for a speedy approval for you this time around.

Ombudsman Response to my inquiry which is generic response again:

Although your receipt date is past the receipt date inquiry on the USCIS processing time site, the Ombudsman office cannot move forward unless your receipt date is 60 days past the receipt date for a case inquiry. Because of the 60 day protocol, our office will be closing this matter.

wow.  That sucks.  All this waiting.  I wish they would move a little faster and work harder on the older cases.  So many of us still waiting from January :(

You must be close to 60 days though, right? (Unfortunately). Hopefully you hear something about your case before then, but I would definitely be putting in another inquiry on day 61 if not (we are still in processing time for our application, but I've already bookmarked all the pages in case we also come to this)! The wait time right now is really inexcusable and the generic messages they send when an inquiry goes to them are far from comforting or informative.

I heard from my local Congresswoman's office and they said they submitted a Congressional Inquiry a week ago and USCIS has up to 30 days to respond.  I'll keep this thread updated in case anyone else is also interested in going down this route.

However, one thing I noted is that the Ombudsman's office will not help if you're not beyond 60 days normal processing or if your Representative has submitted an inquiry in the past 30 days.

Hopefully you will not have to wait the full 30 days!  So happy that you at least got someone looking into it as USCIS doesn't seem to be moving in your case.

Best wishes!

OMG congratulations!  You beat me!  I'm still waiting to hear on my second RFE~!!

how did you get the approval?  Do they only update their systems overnight?  I thought I signed up for email but I never get any text or email.  I always have to log in and check.
