JANUARY 2021 I-129F K-1 FILERS (merged)

My fiancée went to India to study and completed her school and university there. She spent 10 plus school years in India. Currently, she is living and working in Nepal for the past 7 years.  She also went to school and university in two different cities. Does she need to get a police report from India?

USCIS says roughly 5.5-7.5 months to process the I-129F.  I would check visa processing times on here though just to see what others have experienced.  I do that and then add a month for COVID cushion.  For example, I've noticed the august filers on here have reported around 6 months to I-129F approval with no RFEs.  But your case could be longer or shorter.

Yes, I also noticed that most of August filers report 5.5-6months so hopefully we will start getting NOA 2's by the  end of June, beginning of July.

Hey all! I just checked and current processing time  has been reduced to 5-7months. I know it is  not reduced by much, but they must be speeding up! :) Just wanted to share the good news.

Omg!!! That’s great news!! Hoping to have my fiancé here by October. Now it seems possible.

Hi Everyone - I hope this is the correct thread for my question.   If not, apologies and hope you can point me in the right direction. Details:

Mailed I-129F package via FedEx for Japanese fiance 1/23/2021.

I-129F received and signed for by USCIS staff 1/28/2021.

USCIS cashed my check 3/16/2021

Received emailed photo from USPS Informed Delivery of what I assume is the NOA1 letter that was going to be delivered to my home on 3/20/21

Mail didn't arrive/lost that day.  Nothing today as well.  It's possible it comes later but...

My question is - is there any way to get my receipt number so I can track my case on the USCIS website if I never get the NOA1?  I've not received an email or text from USCIS either.  I've called the USCIS phone number many times but can't get through the automated system without a receipt number.  I've filed a missing mail request with USPS but if they can't find the letter and I can't get the info from USCIS, I have no idea what to do.

I may be being hasty as the letter my arrive eventually but like you all, I'm very emotionally invested in this whole process.  If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate the thoughts.

It looks like they have already issued NOA1. You can contact USCIS 1 (800) 375-5283 and get your case number. Tell " I need to update my case" automated system will direct to person, that's how I was able to get by.

Thank you so much.  This solved my issue!

Police certificates are needed from countries where the beneficiary has lived for at least 6 months after they turned 16 or smith like that. There's thorough information about this on the travel.state.gov (or USCIS, I don't remember anymore) website and also information about how to get the documents from certain countries. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

This is the first I've heard about background checks, at what stage do we need those?

Jan 21 - Sent I-129F to Dallas Lockbox from Indonesia

Jan 26 - Delivered to Lockbox

Mar 13 - USCIS charged credit card

Mar 15 - Case number received by text

Embassy interview. I'm pretty sure every embassy requires police certificates, but it's a good idea to check their website and see what the required documents are for the interview.

So all beneficiaries need to have police clearance record from the country they lived? What are the other requirements for the interview?

Medical exam and police certificate are required but you should go on your fiancé embassy or consulate website for any additional requirements. Each embassy goes about the interview a different way.
