Just got a notification from the bank that my card was charged! :) No text/case number yet

Application arrived at lockbox Jan 26

Just got the text with the case number. I put the case number into the USCIS tracking website and it shows the received date, Jan 26, not today's date, fyi.

Jan 21 - Sent I-129F to Dallas Lockbox from Indonesia

Jan 26 - Delivered to Lockbox

Mar 13 - USCIS charged credit card

Mar 15 - Case number received by text

Just updated it. Do you know how we find out which center will process the application?

All I-129F process at California right now. Rarely some get transfer to Vermont for extra background checks and security.

Received a text. Mail on the way. Packaged was received Jan 27.

What is the waiting time now for embassy interview? 3-4 months? Thanks

USCIS says roughly 5.5-7.5 months to process the I-129F.  I would check visa processing times on here though just to see what others have experienced.  I do that and then add a month for COVID cushion.  For example, I've noticed the august filers on here have reported around 6 months to I-129F approval with no RFEs.  But your case could be longer or shorter.

specified I-129F approval instead of general approval

Thanks so 5.5-7.5 months from Jan (packaged received) or from now? Meaning around August 2021 if no RFF for approval?

I am guessing August/September.  I think USCIS bases on backdate for their averages.  When i updated my timeline with the recepit backdate, it gave me an estimate of August to September.

So let’s say it’s August. For example case will get approve then how the applicant will be notified for interview since he or she is not in us or will they send a letter to petitioner? Any ideas?

The beneficiary receives the information about the interview from their embassy.

With the actual mailing address with provided in the form?

Yes. I think it goes like this - NVC sends your file to embassy, beneficiary files DS-160, embassy contacts beneficiary about interview. If you move, you can contact USCIS about change of address but I'm guessing the embassy will use the address you give on the DS-160. Maybe someone else has more/better information. I'm still in the beginning of the process myself and idk how everything goes.

It depends on the embassy. Some will contact the petitioner first and some contact the beneficiary. You have to look at your embassy website. If your fiancé lives in a country with a poor mailing system then most likely they will contact you first.

She lives in Iran with no US embassy. So we used turkey embassy for interview. I assume they will contact me first then since I live in US. Thanks
