My fiance' told me that I needed to get 12 type of fruit, preferably round,  for the New Year.

This is what I picked up.

It's actually 12 type of round fruits! Philippines beliefs for Good luck!

Not sure if these round fruits would help on having a better life without working hard. I'm filipino and i stop doing this 😆😂

I have my own family traditon/beliefs

Happy New year!

Working hard for sure, but I am willing to try this in addition to.

At the very least, I will start the new year eating better.

While we've rarely succeeded in collecting 12 types for New Year's eve, I've always thought this was a fun tradition.  It's like a treasure hunt.  Happy New Year!

Definitely.  I actually thought of asking my husband to try this too when I saw your post.  It will at least add variety to his diet, instead of "Which fried chicken meal should I get today?" :D

As long as he has mac& cheese with the fried chicken it should be fine. I mean mac & cheese are vegetables 😄

When my wife told me that we needed to buy fruit I was watching football, then she laid on the Filipino Tradition angle and I was soon reaching for the truck keys.  I will get even with her because in Texas you must eat Black Eye Peas for good luck on New Years Day,  and the best of Black Eye Peas are terrible.

What??! I love black eyed peas! The recipe I followed was simple and tasty. 😋

As for the round fruits, I think we got that from the Chinese fruit vendors who get the most luck obviously. We do get fruits for the sake of it but definitely not 12 kinds and not all are round ones.

Just picked ours up yesterday......  Oranges, watermelon, Fuji apple, lychee, cactus fruit, yellow mango, apricot, pineapple, grapes, yellow papaya, kiwi, and bartlett pear,  We go to a Korean Market near us and usually grab different types to try.  Unfortunately, they did not have any jack fruit or durian this year.

Happy New Years
