NVC Processing backlog and presidential proclamation.

Hello everyone.

F2A category here.

I'm really worried thinking how presidential proclamation and pandemic of 2020 is going to affect the timeline of NVC processing now. I submitted all my docs and DS260 to NVC in October 2020. Keeping the possible backlogs of this year in mind, when should I expect NVC to respond and schedule my interview at the embassy now ? Any leads ? Are people being interviewed these days or is it still suspended because of covid.

Thanks in advance.

No F- category visas are being interviewed right now because of the Trump ban. For sure there is a backlog building up, probably big, but no-one can really give estimates of waiting times until embassies reopen and start scheduling interviews again. However, if you only submitted docs in October it is likely to be a pretty long wait - given interviews have been suspended since March (Covid shutdowns) already, and most embassies are still not back to full capacity.

Only people that are issued to interview dates are Young V Trump Plaintiffs for f2a

for Mumbai consulate. Last DQ to get interview letter was November 2019.

so the back long is huge.

depending on how fast they process after ban is over. And they actually starts issuing f2a visas. It will take about 8-10 months

We've been documentarily qualified since September of 2019 (processing in Montreal).  I was quite certain our interview letter would have come in April, based on others' timelines but unfortunately Covid ruined that assumption, then this ridiculous ban certainly didn't help.  I imagine the backlog is going to be a nightmare.

Sending good vibes to all of us waiting!  Hopefully this will be past us before we know it!

I'm hoping for some miracle now. I haven't even been documentarily verified yet. Is your visa category F2A ?

May this year bring good news to all us.

Hi, yes it is F2A. And our idiot prez just extended the ban apparently until end of March. Hopefully Biden overturns it for everyone’s sake. We’ve been fortunate enough not to be separated but my heart is with so many of you here that have been waiting away from your families. Fingers crossed for a better 2021!
