I myself think they are great questions, it proves you communicate together. All couples have disagreements in their life. My friend in Singapore a few years ago told me how many ladies were failing their interview on an easy question, "What was the color of your BF/spouse toothbrush?"

This is just a rumor

I heard all the same information about what color toothbrush does your fiance use.  This is nothing more than rumor monger. My nephew who did his K1 back in Philippines about 20 years ago which I was Co Sponsor said he heard that was  a questions CO's asked.

Even when I did my first K1 many years ago,  I heard on the rumor mill they may/will ask you what your fiance brand of toothpaste

Questions regarding toothbrush color is just spreading Fake News

I agree. Toothpaste and toothbrush are a little over the top. Using common sense in what they ask would normally lead you to the correct assumption as you have opined.

The question are down right stupid, or maybe the country is high fruad and that is why they ask.

Here was my fiance interview in Philippines.

What's your name?

Where did you meet your fiance?

Do you plan on working once you get to USA?

Have you traveled to USA before?

How many times trips has the petitioner made to Philippines to meet you?

Then he said everything looks good, you guys are approved and then he said do you have any questions for me?

I said no not really and the CO was smiling and seemed happy for us as a couple, he sure seemed like a nice guy.  I was watching another CO in a window/interview next to him ,she had a scowl on her face and looked like a truly hateful person, Thankfully I didn't get her as my CO.

That day I watched and overheard about 5 tourist Visa and about 8 K1 Interviews go one from my seat, they were pretty much all the same or nearly same question coming for the CO's.

Those are the typical questions one can expect. The other questions that you see are those where the CO has a doubt about your relationship and will use to dig deeper. Best to know the answer. Keep mind that a "I don't know" is an answer and is to be used when you are unsure. You don't lose points by not knowing a question. It's when you don't know the answers to many of the questions asked that you would feel the PUSH back from the CO.

It's important, if not crucial, to note that consular interviews in Manila are like nowhere else.

Questions in other developing countries typically go far beyond those suggested.

(I have this on excellent authority.)

But enough -- let's return to congratulating the OP on his success!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Spain is not that difficult embassy from which to receive a visa from. I doubt they will even ask for chat logs. If you feel comfortable you can do the translation yourself. But, again chat logs are not part of the required documents for the interview.

This from your embassy's website:

Translations (original & copy): All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made (Spanish), must be accompanied by certified English translations. Translations must be certified by a competent and registered translator. The original document that is being translated must also be presented with the original translation.

According to the website they are not requesting any proof of a relationship. Follow what they are asking for.

Hi TinNhi congrat.  I have a few question if you could assist me.  When we filed the the i-129f in the U.S. in 2019 we provided a "copy" of my birth certificate and a the i-134 affidavit of support [2018 1040 tax].  Now that we got an ok just in december 2020 with the PKT3-K instruction of to do tasks.  It asked for the "original" birth certificate and the i-134.  With the Covid i cannot travel back to bring the important documents and afraid it might be lost with the "original" birth certificate via postal mail.  I can Fedex the required doc back but hesitate to send the "original".  May i ask how do you supply the original bc and the i-134.

Hi and thank you for the support and well-wishes!

I only provided copies of my birth certificate and other I-134 documents.  I literally used Adobe to scan-to-email my Fiance all the supporting documents.

Good luck!

Hey Tin. Congratulations. I am the petitioner for my fiancee as well. We were both at the interview the same day as your fiancee. I live and work in Vietnam for over 3 years. We spent weeks stressed out of our mind preparing and gathering all the documents and evidence for the interview. In the end, she also passed and they didn't ask to see anything at all. The interview lasted maybe 10 minutes. It was nerve wrecking because so many people before us got the blue slip. Here were our questions:

Questions for her (beneficiary)

- What is your fiance's father's name?
- Who are your fiance's siblings?

- Do any of them live in New Jersey? (assuming they knew this already)

- What does your fiance's brother do?

- What is your fiance's job? (I'm living in Vietnam as a teacher)

- Does he own a home in the USA?

- What is his plans for work if you both go to America?

- What do you both plan to do when you go to the USA?

Questions for me (petitioner)

- Do you own a home? How did you buy it? Is it also under someone's name? (they knew my sister shared the building with me) Then to also confirm, they asked me what part of Philadelphia the property was located..North, east, west, south? It was in South Philly I answered.

- Where did you go to school? What was your degree in?

- Will you work when you go back home?

So Tin, it's been almost a week since the interview. I wanted to ask you, was your fiance's passport delivered yet? My fiancee is still waiting for her's and she's starting to feel anxious as if they might change their mind. Thanks

Victor
