Hello!

My husband is home sick and wants to go back to England to visit his family. Is has the EAD and AP card, so he is allowed to travel right?

Also, we have been at the 'ready to schedule a interview' stage since Sept 4th, any info on when is it likely that we will get a scheduled interview?

The EAD and AP grant one the opportunity to travel. Ready to schedule can take weeks or even months before the actual interview is schedule.

In most cases, the interview is schedule 1 month in advance (Not Guarantee)

In my case, I was ready to schedule in August and my interview was schedule in April.

You can check the processing times for your service center on the USCIS page. That's the most accurate you'll be able to get after Covid threw everything under the bus.

He can travel as far as travel restrictions and flight schedules allow it and if you're at home you can call him back in case you get a short notice for an interview.

No issue with flying out of the US.  As for returning from the UK, in addition to his passport and EAD/AP, he will need --

  • Negative COVID test results from not more than 3 days before his flight
  • A copy of your marriage certificate and proof of your US citizenship

Also depends where he is traveling in the UK, Tier 4 would be a no no.
