Odds are she was chatting with you and someone else ...she choose someone else ... you got blocked.

I tend to agree with this. This is the reality of online dating.

But as they say, "try and try until you succeed."

I tend to agree, but also remember that Philippines has a lot of power outages that could contribute to a short term communication loss.

If the OP has a decent picture, you can do a Google image search.  My wife's cousin is a widow and "fell in love" with a guy on FB.  I was able to find his FB profile and his profile pic was a dashing middle aged man standing on a yacht.  I got several hits on Google image search.  The picture was used by several scammers.  I reported the profile to Facebook and it was shut down.  I never told her about that but I certainly saved her some heartache and maybe some money.

I'm with Hank.  They have many fishing poles in the water.  The thing that got me was the filipina said she wanted to give the OP a gift for their birthday.  We all know that it is difficult and expensive to do that so I believe she was baiting him for a gift or money.  If she offered to get something for him it is because she wanted something herself.  I have many years of experience with Filipinas and I even married one...LOL

Well, we had the discussion a few times on getting things for each other...even had a disagreement over it at one point.

She wanted to get me things but didn't want me to get her anything...she never gave me a reason why, she just said that's how she wanted it.

She never once asked or hinted that she wanted things or money from me. She never asked for anything from me...nothing that hinted at a potential scam or catfish...

I'm generally a skeptical person, especially when it comes to this sort of thing...i can be untrusting and judge based on stereotypes...like Filipinas using American men for things... not once was there anything she said or did to suggest any of this

Snapchat deletes all messages after 24 hours, unless saved...unfortunately,  I no longer have access to any of the messages, even the saved ones, because they aren't in my list of friends...

I wish I saved it all so I could show the types of things that were said.

No one seemed to have suggested the possibility of the girl losing her phone.

If her phone was lost and there's no other way to contact you to let you know, then it's not easy to say that 'she didn't want to be contacted'.

Lost phone is possible, but why would her profiles be gone?

Whoever found her phone probably cleaned up the phone?

I am not sure how snapchat works though so I could be wrong...

Well, I know I should be patient and I know it's a long shot...but if anyone here has any sort of connections in that area that might be able to help me find them...or at least find out if they are real...I would greatly appreciate it. I really just need peace of mind with all this. I need to stop wondering and worrying about them. Some answers would be nice, but mostly I just need to know if they are real and they are okay.

If its meant to be, she will find you for sure.  I think the advice you have received in this thread, especially page 2, is spot on.

In my earlier days, especially in the 2005-2012 range, I was dating and meeting a number of girls.  During that period there were a few that I liked and would have considered something more serious.  However I remember meeting one of them over a weekend and when the next weekend came, she was already in Australia posting pictures of her wedding. :)  Another one came to me and said she had just received her visa to Germany and was going to be with her husband. :)  This was after a few months of "dating" her.  Ive got a ton of other stories but those few stand out.  The advice about knowing when you have found one locking onto you like a cruise missile is so true.  At times you may wish for a satellite malfunction. :)

Only advice I would add is move off of Snapchat and switch to Whatsapp or Messenger.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I do really appreciate the advice. I'm just very lost and confused. Even though it was only 2 months, I can say that I haven't felt that kind of connection before. I am kicking myself for not exchanging more ways of staying in contact, like email and phone numbers and such...

I am doing what I can to try to find her. I'm not ready to give up, but I have very limited resources to work with. I do have a decent amount of information to work it, if any of it's true. I just need a way to utilize that info.

Guys, let’s just be real here. No amount of power outages or lost phones can stop a woman from communicating with you if they really want to. The lady’s profile isn’t visible to OP anymore so it means she doesn’t want to be contacted. A power outage or a lost phone won’t delete her profile. She could easily log back in when the power is back or on another device.

To the OP, it looked like she was serious about it but she probably didn’t think you were (i.e., staying on Snapchat without exchanging personal contact details). She probably thought she was wasting her time and moved on. She probably thought you were just another frog she would have to kiss before she finds her prince. If this is the case, let this be a learning opportunity for you going forward. If you want to get serious with a woman, let her know. There are a lot of good ladies out there waiting. So, cheer up!
