Taiwan Specific Question No. 2

The very last hurdle to completing our NVC application is a rejection of my wife's birth certificate by the NVC.  First, I submitted a copy of her original Taiwanese Birth Certificate, along with a notarized English translation.  I submitted both copies together in a single scanned image.

This submission was rejected and I got this message from the NVC:  "Taiwan requires more than one birth document.  Please delete any Taiwanese birth certificates and submit all required documents at the same time.  You can find the..."

Sooo, my wife and I are completely confused.  We have no idea what this "more than one birth document" is referring to.  And I haven't been able to find anything from searching the web thus far.  Do they just want us to submit the Chinese original and the English translations separately?  Or is there some other sort of birth document my wife needs from the government?

My wife obtained a copy of her original birth certificate from her HHR (Household Registration office).  The entries in the form (from 1957) were handwritten.  We translated it, and had it notarized by an attorney in Taipei.  We submitted both the original and translations.  My wife knows of no other type of birth certificate available.  It might be important to get an official copy from her HHR office.

Yeah, you know I think we figured it out.  It's just the Household registration piece.  I submitted the Birth Certificate and translation, but not the Household Registration, which I had already submitted for myself.

anyway, thanks.  NOW my only problem is I'm getting this "security exception" every time I try to upload the documents!!!  😣
