Timeline

I would talk to a lawyer and potentially look into a 'writ of mandamus' if it's taking over a year in AP. Dont listen to some people here, they are just negative and assume it's okay to be in AP for years. It's wrong and doesn't make sense. Talk to a lawyer and discuss it. It looks like the government just wants to punish and mistreat some people from pakistan.

A mandamus is a possibility but it often does not obtain the results you may be looking to achieve.  you can also look into the blog from visa journey

Consular didn't ask me medical renew and on ceac status still refused since interviewed. But down there every month change Date last case updated. Its really so stressful.

Bro good luck for your wife. Hope she get visa soon In Sha Allah.. mine case is same they kept my passport and now almost 18 months complete and didn't get any answer from the embassy they just given me 221g without any documents required mentioned there your visa application is undergoing AP.. did you checked status on ceac website

Yes, it say Refused and gave her 221g AP.

No they didn't asked anything about documents 18 months is complete but didn't heard anything from embassy

For what purpose should the OP get an attorney?   Extended Administrative Processing can not be expedited or waived.  In addition, forcing them to make a decision through use of a Writ could can trigger an immediate denial.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Do you honestly believe that?  The fact is that the in-country security checks cannot be trusted in Pakistan.  It has nothing to do with the US wanting to mistreat Pakistanis.....
