Just a quick question for anyone that has experience regarding traveling while a I129-F is still being processed.

I have been researching current processing times for the K1 visa and everything on the USCIS side seems fairly normal.

But the NVC is stage after the NOA2 isn't looking good (10 Months) just to receive an interview.

Has anyone here Traveled during the NOA1 or the NOA2 period?

I normally go to the united states to be with her every  year (for the past 3 years) and i stay for around 4 months. Like i said earlier we were hoping the k1 visa wouldn't be held up like it looks like it going to be due to the crappy covid.

So is traveling after a I129-F has been received a bad idea?

Nothing is preventing you from traveling.  You still must any entry requirements.

YMMV

You can travel if you meet the local restrictions that are in place at the time of travel. Research those first. It's been recommended that you bring documents that show that you will return based on property, employment, or business ownership. Others are traveling on their ESTA visa while waiting for their I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) to be adjudicated and have not encountered problems. "your mileage may vary"

Lots of folks with pending petitions have been able to visit over the years.  Here's a recent entry from Canada --

Entry is always at the discretion of CBP.  If you plan to visit for 4 months again, I suggest you bring proof of strong ties to Canada to present to CBP if asked.  Also, try to go through an airport with CBP pre-clearance.  Good luck!

I very much second what @Greenbaum recommends!

When my husband and I were going through the K-1 visa he was stopped and he was requested to "withdraw his application for admission" (basically wasn't let into the US).  They said he did not have enough ties to his home country to prove he would return.  Both of us traveled many times across the border with little question and he even stayed here for a full month once.  But this time he was driving, had more luggage than usual and was planning on staying three months.  So they didn't let him in.  It was a bummer but looking back it was definitely because he couldn't definitively prove he would return.  So I also recommend you provide documents to show you will return.

Also just a little extra info...After this occurrence he didn't  attempt to visit me again and I made all the trips to visit him to be safe.  It didn't effect our visa application because we were honest about the time it happened and it also seemed while we were in line at the Montreal consulate that this happened to others who were in line too.
