Hello!

My husband just had his immigrant visa interview on Dec 14th at Montreal. The Consular Officer said everything is fine on their end, but my husband was handed a 221g because the Consulate did not receive his medical results by time of interview. They kept his passport. After the interview, my husband's CEAC status went from Refused to Issued on Friday, Dec 18th. We were SO happy to see this since we figured they received his medical results. Then, his status changed from "Issued" to "Ready" on Dec 21st. Shortly after, his status went back to "Refused" on Dec 23rd. The Consulate finally "officially" confirmed receipt of my husband's medical via email on Tuesday (Dec 22).

Should I be concerned about these many CEAC status changes? The CO didn't say he needed any additional information from my husband at time of interview (only required the medical results). I'm stressing out that his status changed so many times and landed on "Refused" after already being issued. Is he just in an admin processing of some sort? Trying NOT to worry, but can't help it. Let me know if what we're seeing is normal?

This is just administrative work. You need to be patient and wait a little bit more.

Good luck

Since the embassy has acknowledged receipt of the medical results it will change back to "Issued". Maybe the earlier "Issued" on the website was because the officer thought they already had your medical in their system, a second look suggested they had not yet received it and had to change it back to "Refused"(AP). Now that they have it you should be fine...All the best.

@Paula&Johnny I emailed the consulate and they said husband’s case is in administrative processing. We never received any formal notice about this. They have not asked us for any further information either and still have his passport. Status is still refused. Do you think this is still pertaining to administrative work? We should have been issued by now esp after medical has been received...getting worried!

I hope this is the case because we never received any formal notice of AP. The Consulate keeps saying we’re in AP when I email them, but I don’t understand what type we’re in. It doesn’t make sense to me. You’d think they would ask for additional information as they typically do with AP cases, but we haven’t heard anything from them. Still waiting this out...

Hi there, not much advice to offer but just wanted to say I'm in a similar situation. Interview Dec. 7 and 221g due to needing an updated police certificate. It took forever in the mail so I didn't get it back to the consulate until Dec. 29. My status has said Refused this whole time but "case last updated Dec. 30" which tells me they have at least received the PC and applied it to my file. Please update if anything changes for you and I'll do the same! Which email have you been reaching out to?
