i864 and w2 urgent question..

My wife was interviewed yesterday in HCM City in VN, she passed..but need additional paperwork. They need to have another joint-sponsor. My amount wasn't enough according to them, although it was adequate according to the 2006 guidelines ($16,834). And the lawyer over there said it was okay. Well my original joint-sponsor doesn't work anymore so I have another one. But her 2006 TAX shows she work only 4 months with the amount of 18.007 USD. Now my question is. Is that enough to joint-sponsor? She is currently working. Can I use her as my joint-sponsor? Or is there anyway to validate her total amount annually? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Should be enough, get a letter from employer, and recent pay stubs, the letter will show a higher gross income amount, and the pay stubs will confirm this.

Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name,last name) has been employed

full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an

annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company

letterhead.

Thank you. I just talk to the lawyer over there. He said I need to have a joint-sponsor that makes at least 30 K a year to make the case go through. Is that true? I starting to think he's not really sure whats he's doing.

The consulate can set the standard for determining public charge if they want to, the I-864P is considered the min. Again from what you said your co sponsor worked 4 months and made 18,000 multiply that by 3 and it exceeds 30K.

Again this should satisfy them.
