My wife has been documentarily qualified for about 3 months now. How long does it take until she gets an interview date? We are doing the Spousal visa by the way.

It all depends on when your consulate allows interviews and the length of the backlog at NVC for your consulate.  This is the sequence of events:

1. Your case is DQ'd at NVC.

2. Your case enters the interview queue for that consulate.

3. Your consulate informs NVC of available interview dates for the upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules your interview (assigns your case a date) when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC sends your case to your consulate.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

We were DQ'd back in June 2020.  We got our interview appointment about 2 weeks ago for next month in January  Like Lucky Cat, they are working on backlog.   Should be coming soon. or mayb soooon. 😜.  I am so happy to be coming to an end of all this and am very exited to see my wife again.  Has been over a year and a half since i have been able to hold her.  Hopefully just 3 more months. 🙏
