My wife just got DQ’ed on Tuesday, what’s the backlog like for interviews? How long does it usually take to get notified of an interview date after being DQ’ed? We are hoping she can be in the states by the end of March, what are the chances of that

From what I have read and our own experience. Interview notification can be between 3 days and 2 weeks. Depends on the time of the month. Interviews are 2 - 5 weeks from DQ. Our situation was slighty different because we had to reschedule our interview. But we were given a date just under 4 weeks from the request. Good Luck

Hi, I am in the same boat. I have just sent the civil documents on 24 Jan. Can I ask how long NVC approve your documents? My friend took 15 days for that. I will take a visa for employment. I wonder if it is different to family-based for priority and it will be take longer than? Can I ask you when you get DQ? Thank you so much.

Honestly I dont know if there is a difference in priority when sending civil documents to the NVC. The way to track NVC processing is using this link NVC Timeframes (state.gov) it shows what dates they are looking at and if you look back historically you can workout the amount of applications they are getting through each week. They update once a week every Monday or Tuesday, as I see it now on the 24th January 2022 they are only reviewing documents sent 20th October 2021.

We originally submitted all our documents on 7th/8th June and was DQ'd on 27th July for my son. I had an RFE for my wife so then only DQ'd for that 21st October. After my wife DQ on 21st October we got interview for 4th November which we later changed. Hope that helps and good luck

Says within 2 weeks but  really depends on the local SSA office to your address. I've heard 2 weeks - 1 month and some people having to reapply completely once they get there.  If you are concerned about using a SSN to find work. You can technically use the I-551 (Visa Stamp) in your passport as authorisation to work. Companies have 90 days to submit SSNs to the relevant agencies, so they can still hire you. Whether the company knows that or not is a different question.

Hey guys. I’m going through the k1 visa process. Does anyone know how long it’s taking to get an appointment for the medical and if there’s a backlog at all?

Depends call Mater hospital ask for nearest availability. We were never given anything other than 3 weeks away. But you can keep calling each morning to see if there are cancellations. Also you can do the medical before you get the interview letter/request. Both my wife and son did theirs 3 months 1 month in advance of having been scheduled for an interview. We just used the NVC processing time frames to estimate when our case would be reviewed.

Hi, I saw on the website of Mater hospital, they told that we need to bring "Appointment letter from the United States Embassy". How did you request if you have no appointment letter? The medical report is valid within 6 months, isn't it?

As long as you provide a case number they will give you an appointment.

We called and was told the nearest appointment was March 22nd. Are there any other places you can get the medical? That date is ridiculous

Hi tarajn17, have you received the interview letter from the embassy/NVC yet? More than 8 weeks from now to book a medical exam :( It's a huge backlog.

Hi RyRyK, did you call to Mater along with the Immigrant Visa Case Number (NVC Case Number - DBLxxxxxxxxxx) to book a medical exam without an interview appointment letter? I will try to call them to book an appointment. Just to make sure I understand it correctly. Thank you for helping.

No, no interview letter yet. Hoping this week. Wish there was somewhere else to complete the medical
