Hey Guys,

Had my interview today.

I was asked to provide pictures of me and my wife together so glad I had those prepared.

My application was rejected however as proof of my wife's citizenship was not scanned into CEAC.

They told me that once I scan this in they will process my application straight away.

When I left the embassy I realized that my wife's birth cert was in fact scanned in. I went ahead anyway and scanned both the birth cert and passport into both the affidavit of support sections and the applicant sections and emailed the embassy with screen shots.

Anyway not a nice experience as this document was in fact scanned in. But these documents were not something I had been focusing on during my preparation so I wasn't able to challenge on this point.

That’s unfortunate,  where are you supposed to upload your wife’s proof of citizenship? I’m reviewing the CEAC portal and I don’t remember being asked for similar documents in the AOS section.
did you upload it to Other?

Sorry for the late reply on this one.
Your wife's proof of citizenship should be uploaded to the AOS section.

That's what was frustrating. I wouldn't have been at the interview had I not uploaded that document.
When I got home I uploaded both the passport and birthcert to the other section of the AOS page.
And then I also uploaded them to the section where I upload my documents.

My advice would be to know what documents you have uploaded. I would have liked to be able to say "No, I know x document is there".

Best of luck.

We got flagged for the same thing in the interview today.
Have to upload evidence of U.S. citizenship. I’m going to upload a passport to the AOS additional documents section.

kind of annoying, because I’m pretty sure we went through everything in detail preparing for this. not sure how we missed that.

how long did you have to wait until you heard back that they received your updated documents and approved?

I had my interview on the 14th at 13:00.

I emailed that day when I got home to let them know I had uploaded the documents.

My status went from ready to administrative processing on the 15th

They responded on the 16th to confirm they had my wife's passport scan

My status went to issued today 20th.

Waiting for the email with the tracking number for my passport now.

Have you heard back or was your visa issued? I had my interview on the 26th and was also asked to submit additional documents which the Embassy received on the 29th. My visa status is still Refused and I am starting to panic.

Yes, my visa was issued this past Thursday. We’re waiting to pick up our documents - probably this week.

It took the consulate one week to process once they received the passport upload. So, I think you can expect to hear back this week, if you haven’t already heard.

I got an email notifying us our documents have been shipped. That’s how we found out it was issued. I confirmed this by checking my application status at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

FYI all, it took the Mater 9 days to review & submit our results to the embassy.

Our results were not ready in time for the interview. But, this did not impact the interview. We just had to wait a few weeks before we could be approved (visa issued).

My visa status was updated to Administrative Processing on Monday the 9th and today it's changed to Issued! I am beyond happy!

I didn't get my tracking number yet and really hope they sent it yesterday. Our flight is on Saturday!
