The United States will begin requiring people flying in from the U.K. to test negative for Covid-19 no more than 72 hours before departure, the CDC said in a late Thursday statement.

No, outside links are fine if they are to a news story when the topic is one that is in the news.

 

My husband is currently caught up in this. He was taking advantage of the shortened 5 day quarantine if you test negative using a test from one of certain service providers. Not cheap, but he had family he hadn't seen since early March. Within a couple of days of arriving, London (where he was quarantining) went to Tier 4 and then this on top of it all... well, he has had to rejig a couple of things but he is still on target to come home on the 1st, and his ticket is flexible for changes if he tests positive or results are delayed. It's more of a pain in the butt than anything else.

No. If your travel originated in the UK you must present a negative result using the PCR or antigen test. The CDC has guidance: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-UK-air-travelers.html
