How to get Pakistani Birth certificate corrected if in the UK?

Does anyone how easy it is or who I can contact to get my Pakistani corrected as there was a spelling error in my name when I was born born but have been using another spelling spelling in life (e.g passport, drivers license)

I know that Nadra handles birth registrations now but I don't know if they will have my details as mine was issued by my local union council before Nadra started taking over.

Plus, since I am in the UK, would I have to physically send over my current birth certificate as I am worried about it getting lost/damaged in transit?

You can do a deed poll to legally change your name to the spelling you wish.

https://www.gov.uk/change-name-deed-poll

That document will be your proof of legal name

How far off is the spelling?

What type of document do you have (handwritten birth certificate, typed, etc)?

What type of case is this? (who is sponsoring who?  it actually matters and can make a difference)

You *may* be able to use a NADRA FRC and your CRC/B-Form in place of a birth certificate per the department of state link (others say they have been able to use this)

It's literally just one letter in my surname, an 'a' to 'e' and the birth certificate is an official English copy done with a typewriter issued in the late 1990's.

It's a CR-1 case with my husband as the petitioner.

I don't think I have a Nadra FRC or CRC/B-form, only a National Identity Card so would have to somehow find a way to get hold of that whilst I'm in the UK I guess.

Using your ID number, you can make an FRC online using the NADRA website (you will need the ID numbers of your siblings and parents as well)

As for the typo, you could write a simple letter and explain the issue after they ask you why it is this way.  If you have other documents that have your parentage and your name (such as school records, etc), that can be secondary evidence.
