Ditto, guys - no request for biometrics or notice of fingerprints re-used, then transferred to National Benefits Center. Glad to see I'm not alone. I included a request to waive the interview in my cover letter and a TON of evidence.

Of course! My list is kinda similar to what have already been shared:

  • Copy of marriage certificate
  • Joint rental contract
  • 3 years of tax transcripts and Federal tax return
  • 3 years of paystubs
  • 3 years of utility bills
  • 3 years of joint bank statements
  • 3 years of joint credit card statements (a total of 4 credit cards)
  • 3 years of joint health, renter, auto, and earthquake insurances
  • A copy of our Costco membership card
  • 30+ pictures of family trips

Hope this would help!

Fingerprints

You can't request to waive fingerprints. They have waived it for some people, randomly, and I haven't gotten a notice of biometrics appointment nor a notice that they are reusing my fingerprints so I sent in an online request to double check if I had somehow missed my biometrics appointment and got this response:

If a Biometric Appointment is required you will be sent an appointment notification.  Due to the constraints from COVID-19 USCIS has implemented policies for the waiver of capturing biometric in response to COVID-19.  As such, you may or may not be required to have a biometric appointment.

I also talked to a USCIS person on the live chat and they said I had not been scheduled for biometrics yet. I plan to file N-400 in July, when I'm eligible, and hopefully that moves things along, since I was planning to file for it anyway. I know they're just backlogged to kingdom come.

Interview

You can request to waive the interview when you file I-751 but it's mostly a formality - there is no guarantee they will waive it, and seems to be somewhat random who they waive it for and who they don't. I included in my cover letter: "Pursuant to 8 CFR §216.4(b)(1) and in consideration of the enclosed evidence, we respectfully request that the interview requirement be waived." Figured it was worth a shot but I know there are no guarantees.

I filed in October of 2019 and two days ago my case was touched for the first time and showed that fingerprints were applied.

Now a day later it shows it has been transferred to a different office...

I did not file for naturalization just ROC... Also since we are stationed overseas with the military theoretically I should not have an interview.

Anybody know how much longer I may wait until my case gets approved?

Hi guys, so I filed October 2020 and my case was transferred January 2021 to NBC. Last Tuesday I put in a expedite request , Because I saw people who filed after me got approved before me....this morning I got a response that the request was denied because it didn't meet the urgent criteria, what struck me is that my case is at a uscis office in Alabama instead of NBC. The address is below.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security
USCIS
3381 Atlanta Highway
Montgomery,AL 36109

Hi everyone, in the same boat here. Filed I-751 with plenty of evidence at the California Service Center (WAC) in July 2020. Case was transferred to National Benefits Center (NBC) for faster processing six months later, on January 6th, 2021. Never received a biometrics appointment and old biometrics have not been reused either. Based on other people's timelines in this thread, was hoping old biometrics will be reapplied and our case approved within 6-8 weeks of the transfer. But it has been over 2 months now without any action.

Will be eligible to file N-400 in a little over a month from today and wondering if we should just go ahead with that in case there are no updates on the I-751 by then. It will be a 100 days since the transfer by that point.

Case finally approved! Did not receive any email updates. Decided to hold off on filing N400 until July. Logged in after a long time to start the process, and to my pleasant surprise, found that the ROC was approved last week! 🥳
