Received DQ about 2-weeks ago and was under the impression it would only take 1-2 months.

Soul-destroying to see how long everyone has had to wait. Speechless knowing I likely won't have an interview until 2022.

I'm sorry I was wrong my DQ is from November 10, 2020

Worried me for a second...18 months would be absolutely insane! Great to hear that they're moving a little bit quicker than before.

Is it correct that interviews only resumed again in March 2021 for immigrant visas? If that's the case, it means they've processed almost 7 months of backlog in under 4 months.

Yes but backlog of CR and IR visas. The backlog still exists for plenty of visas like k and b

I suppose I should count myself as one of the 'lucky' ones given that I'm applying for IR-1 then!

Well, I thought it would never happened. Interview is scheduled towards the end of July, and I'm glad it's for when I'm off for work, so I can be with her and our kid. Last night, after a late night at work, I did a final review of the DS-160, submitted it, paid the fee and scheduled the interview and biometrics. So relieved that it's finally happening.

I'm worried about my fiancé's previous four denials for tourist and student visa applications, which I hope will be a non issue, especially since we have a kid together and despite the long waiting time in the process, we're still together. Hopefully the interview will pretty easy as well. Any advice for the next steps?

I'm having visions of me sitting in a beach chair with a cigar, watching her and our kid playing in the water on Miami Beach, taking them hiking and camping in Glacier National Park near where my dad lives, and other things I've been dying to do.

Does anyone here have any info about the medical lab issue now occurring for applicants?

My husband had his medical on Monday and was also issued the "excuse" from the doctor around the lab issue. No further updates. Seems like they may give a tentative answer at the interview but applicants will still need to fly back to Bogota for lab tests before final approval...not sure though. We have the interview tomorrow, and I will be there, so I will try to update when I find out more.

Thank you! Our interview is next week, medical exam was yesterday. The doctor wouldn't disclose much about what's going on (maybe they don't even know?) and only said no one is going for lab work until further notice. Quite frustrating considering we have all already been thru an unusually long process. Good luck tomorrow!

We had the interview today and they put my spouse into administrative processing until the medical exam is updated. It is showing "Refused" on the status update on CEAC - which doesn't feel good! Curious to know what others experience.

From what i have read, refused is normal at that point. At some point it will change to approved but while they finish the paperwork processign its listen as refused for some reason.
