so that table is actually only immigrant visas. K1’s are considered non immigrant. I just looked it up to check for you. It says k1-44 and k2-13

this is visa issuances for the month of march

Oh ok, thanks so much for checking for me! I feel a little better haha.

We had our interview on Monday, and we got approved!  We've been told we'll get her passport back in about a week, which is resulting in a big hotel bill.  Hopefully they will reach out soon and say it is ready.  We are super excited to have the interview behind us and she'll be moving to the US in the next few weeks!

Minor update--

So as previously mentioned we were approved last Monday April 19, and they said it would be a few days before we could pick up the passport.  We received an email on Saturday, April 24 that said it was ready to pickup, but you actually have to set up an appointment via the same usvisa website.  The earliest option was Tuesday but the ASC office observes the rules of Pico y Cedula, so we scheduled to pick it up on Friday, April 30 at the Bogota ASC office.

I hope everyone is well!!

My fiancé has been here in the US with me for 2 weeks now. Our first week we were in this constant state of “woah” because we continued to realize that this wasn’t a vacation and he would not be leaving at the end of the week. We are now knee deep in wedding planning. We are eloping on May 23rd with my immediate family at a park. We will be having a proper ceremony and reception in August with friends and family and have many aspects of that booked already. We are so excited 💕

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone good luck. I know the embassy is still moving pretty slowly. Stay patient, it will be 100% worth it in the end. And I am happy to answer any questions anyone may have when it is time for your interview 😊

Really happy for you guys!  Your hard work paid off.  Thanks for the encouragement.  We are nervously waiting thinking that we might be assigned an interview within the next couple of weeks... but then we keep thinking that it could be months.  We are hesitant to invest more in our June vacation because we don't know what could change in the next few weeks.  Its so stressful.

My wife found this post on the Instagram profile of the Bogota embassy (this is the English translation) about a week ago:

"usembassybogota Was your 2020 immigrant visa interview canceled due to COVID-19?  As we increase the number of daily interviews, we are prioritizing applicants for interviews that were canceled last year for each type of visa.  After them, we will work on new cases received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that are considered by the NVC as having "complete documentation".  It will take a while, but we'll catch up!"

This is making me think that those who were just given interviews with DQ of late April 2020 were just super lucky for some reason and somehow randomly ended up being processed before the cancelled interview cases.  Going by this post it means they are basically still beginning with the ones that were cancelled and "it will take a while".  Like if they are basically just beginning to work on the cancelled cases what have they been doing for the last few months?  This basically destroyed our hope of our interview being any time soon.

Yes plus with the current protesting I don’t see things speeding up at all. Best of luck everyone. I took a remote job and bought a house in Colombia with my fiancee as this is no way to live.

Sadly my NOA2 was “only” 5 months ago so I’m guessing it will be about a year at least with the current rate. Would be nice to at least let people schedule interviews so we can make plans and not have this hanging over. Even if those interviews are a year away.

Happy and congrats on those who’ve been approved at the interview and are beginning the next chapter in your lives.

It’s all really disappointing, especially seeing other embassies in neighboring countries that are fully processing. My congressman is useless, doesn’t respond to emails, calls and other forms of communication. With the situation in the country, I really don’t want my kid or fiancé there.

Per a whatsapp group I'm in, cases have begun leaving the NVC. The case that left was not an emergency case and they had not written their congressperson. The message was from a very active member of the whatsapp group.

Thats great news!!! We are still waiting on our noa2 but it is encouraging if they are starting to clear the backlog. Good luck everyone.
