We question the wisdom of this, the usefulness of congress, or the necessity for young members of congress being prioritized over essential workers but it did happen, for this reason

I'm not clicking on the daily fail link. Did they get the vaccine on camera? If yes, I think that's great and very important for spreading the message to their constituents that the vaccine is safe and that they need to get it, too. I hope Trump gets it on camera, too. Pence did it and that's great but not many people follow him.

There are provisions in place in the event that someone within government leaves this world, so no need to give all of Congress and the Administration vaccinated ahead of others that may need it more.  I am fine with those members that qualify based on age or medical conditions getting it when their time comes up, but getting it or having access to it ahead of the others smacks of elitism.  We already have stories of some people trying to angle to get it through monetary means, and I am sure there are a lot of high profile people or sports leagues also trying to get access ahead of everyone else.

I think there were just a few that did it on camera like Pence (not sure he qualified ahead of those in critical jobs or the elderly), but other than that I don't think the majority of the members of Congress did it on camera.  As to the people wanting it, last I heard it was something like 60% or more that were receptive, so there would be no need at least initially for these leaders to show any examples.  That might be the case in a few months, but not initially.  I know if it were available to me right now, I would not hesitate to get it, but I am down the list and will wait my turn.

Yes, I was aware of that but missed a word. I was aware that most of the "this pandemic is mean to Trump and a complete hoax" crowd happily took their vaccine except for Rand Paul, I assume because he felt it wasn't necessary since he got it from super-spreading without a mask

I don't disagree with this. I also think those who willfully mislead the public about Covid and those who profited off of briefings on the disease shouldn't get it either
