Hi, I lived in another country when filing I-130. Shortly after, I moved back to my home country and also notified USCIS about it. Few days ago we got a welcome letter from NVC and when I logged in i saw USCIS did not change anything. Does anyone have any experience with this? I would like to change the interview location but I'm kinda scared it could delay our case for months, a least that's what I read.

Of course it will delay your case significantly, your current consulate/embassy has its own backlogged line as well. Your petitioner needs to contact nvc immediately

Those two embassies are in Europe and they don't have any backlogs, I'm just wondering if NVC would need long to change that and if that's why our case would be possibly delayed.

If it were me, I would pick up the phone and call NVC and determine what the issues are and what needs to happen to move your file to another embassy. Remember, you must be a resident of that "other" country for more than 6 months otherwise they will refuse your request.

Since you didn't include your "other" country by name, @NancyNguyen returned a blanket statement as to the current conditions of the embassies. What are the two embassies? Knowing that bit of information we can opine to help.

How did this work out for you?

Everything went well. After contacting NVC I was asked to provide my birth certificate and my interview location was changed in 2 days.
