Changes since submitting N400

Hi All, so we’ve had many changes since submitting the N400 in February- new address, employment changes-unemployment/rehire, international travel and a baby. We filed online- case is “taking longer than expected” so interview still TBD. How do we update this new information- or do we even have to? Do we manually complete a new application to bring to the interview with the updated info?

Consulate : Port au Prince, Haiti             I-129F Sent : 4/14/2014

I-129F NOA1 : 4/24/14                            I-129F NOA2 : 9/10/14

NVC Received : 9/24/14                          NVC Left : 9/26/14

Consulate Received : 10/6/14 CEAC status changed to ready

Packet 3 Received : 10/27/14 packet received by petitioner in USA ( beneficiary never received packet 3)

Medical: 10/30/14 Dr. Buteau                  Medical picked up: 11/3/14

Packet 3 Sent : 11/10/13.. Had to schedule interview appointment and attach confirmation receipt to packet

Interview Date : 12/1/14                           Interview Result : Approved !

Visa Received : 12/10/14 picked up at Jacmel location

US Entry : 12/15/14 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Apply for Social Security Card: 12/30/14 Connecticut

Marriage: 1/26/15

 

Adjustment of Status

CIS Office : Hartford                                  Filed : 3/18/15

NOA : 3/25/15                                            Biometrics : 4/15/15

Approved: 8/31/15                                     Received: 9/8/15

You will update at interview. They will ask you about travel outside country you tell the the dates. Take a copy of babies Birth certificate to interview. As far as jobs that's no big deal.

Thank you. I’ll make sure he has his updated list of travel and a copy of the birth certificate. I couldn’t find this info on the USCIS website (changes after submitting app) although admittedly I didn’t look too hard.

You can upload new documents to your case on their website which is what I did with wife now expecting a child, I uploaded letter from her Ob/Gyn.

 

To upload, you need to have an online account. You can create one here: https://www.uscis.gov/n-400 and click on Sign In in top right. It will allow you to create an account. You likely need to put in your 797 NOA Receipt Number and voila.  

 

When you see your N-400 case online, you'll be able to see "Case Status" and on different tab it has documents where you can see the previous documents you submitted.  That page has an option to upload new documents.

 

I would recommend a 'cover letter document listing all the changes since you filed, along with listing file names. then upload this cover letter pdf, along with each document: airline ticket, new address utility bill, employment verification, etc.

 

Then of course, for the interview take ALL documents (previous and new ones) with you as instructed.  During interview they'll already have it in their system so it's less work during interview.
