Sponsor's household size I-864

having some confusion on this part.

part 5 sponsor's household size.. number 7 (optional)

I started working in October after graduation...

I live with my parents currently.

My mom will be our joint sponsor so she will have to fill out an I-864 form.

My mom and dad filed joint taxes, so my dad will complete an I-864a form.

Would I enter anything for #7 (If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting an I-864a, enter the number here) ?   Or will my household size stay remain at "2" with me and my wife.

My wife will be living with me in my parents house when she arrives...

Your household size remains 2.  Technically, now that you are working, you need not be counted as a dependent of your mother, but if you were listed as a dependent on their latest tax return, it's probably best to match the affidavit to the tax return.

That is an option but not what you have chosen to do. It is particularly useful if neither you, nor Mom qualified and you needed to pool your income to get over the line. Mom qualifies on her own and is doing her own I-864 so won’t be on your form

.  Think of the household count as your financial household. You have a job and are responsible for you and wife (2). That part is not about accounting for everybody that lives under the same roof.

thank you both. My head has been spinning left and right today trying to fill these forms.

I have one last question

My mom is filling the I-864 and my dad is filling the I-864a form.

On both these forms it says "my total income (adjusted gross income on IRS 1040EZ form) as reported on my federal tax returns for the most recent three years.

Since my parents file joint taxes, would the numbers in both these forms be the same adjusted gross income?

Or should my mom put her income on her form. and then my dads income on his?

My dad is a business owner and files schedule C and 1040 for taxes, he showed a negative amount on his taxes for 2017 and 2018..  so I am a bit confused here.

Yes, the information from the 1040 line labeled "Total Income" is used on both their forms.  Your father's current income will be shown as a negative amount.  You may need to hand write the - or () on the form.  Your mother's current income does not come from her tax return.  It comes from her pay stub. If she makes thousand a week gross, then her current income is 52,000.  Simple stuff.

Depending on the size of the negative from Dad's business, you could have a problem.

It does not say that. It says:

For purposes of this affidavit, the line for Total Income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ, the line for adjusted gross income will be considered.

Your parents did not file a 1040EZ. So for them simplify that statement and ignore what does not apply.

For purposes of this affidavit, the line for Total Income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ, the line for adjusted gross income will be considered.

I already explained that in your previous thread. I even gave you the exact line numbers to find total income on the 1040 for 2018, 2019, 2020.

thanks..

Is it a must that I include the 2nd most recent and 3rd most recent tax years information?

As it states "If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years."

You MUST enter the information.  You only need to provide one transcript or return copy.   Different issues.  Is English your first language? You seem to be having trouble with understanding full sentences.
