Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's an issue if my fiance moves? He's currently in Minsk but the situation there is a bit scary and he's in the process of getting a Polish visa for work. Warsaw is also the embassy we chose for the K1 interview. Also, we just got the NOA2 and according to the flow chart, the embassy will mail a letter to his address in Minsk.

Do you know if changing his address will affect anything? How critical is this letter?

Thank you in advance!

The letter will be Packet 3. It's critical because it contains all the instructions on how to move forward with the interview, at the embassy level. Most embassies send this information by email.

How did you choose Warsaw if he is not currently a legal resident/citizen of that country? Confirm with the NVC to which embassy the case will be sent to before anything else.

If your fiancé is not a resident for more than 6 months of the country to which he wants to interview in, he will not be able to interview in that country. The information they want to mail to you is the P3 letter which is the instructions for the next steps. Do you have a case number? BTW, the embassy you chose is not necessarily the embassy to which you will be granted an interview. They use the beneficiary's address to determine the embassy.

Many of your questions are answered base on the completion of your profile on the left column. We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Hi there,

I believe it was Warsaw because that's the closest location where citizens of Belarus have to go to for immigrant visas. We just received NOA2 today but due to the issues in Belarus my fiancé thought it would be  a good idea to move to Poland (it's right next to Belarus) - the issue here is that if he will get anything mailed by the embassy it may just be better for him to stay in Belarus. Or if he moves, how can we update the address, or would that complicate our situation?

Also, we're trying to find out what the probability of getting a visa to Poland  is for the interview if he were to stay in Belarus.

The issue in this post is that even though a move is contemplated to a different country,  this is one of those rare situations where there would be NO change in consulate.

YMMV

Have you received any snow there in the Twin Cities? I'm originally from Golden Valley and my family still lives there in Edina and Eden Prairie.

Back on October 24th we got 6 inches, but that is long gone.  Daytime temps are hovering just above freezing, so for being mid December we ain't complaining

YMMV
