Are financial documents like the affidavit of support (i-864) and the federal income tax returns i sent to the NVC required at the interview? I seem to be getting conflicting information from different sources, and i tried emailing the embassy and got a less than helpful response. Do the requirements for original documents generally vary depending on the specific embassy?

Interviewed in London, but I took along tax returns (W2s) and corresponding tax transcripts for 2016 - 2019. Uploaded onto CEAC website at time of interview was only the 2018 W2 and tax transcript along with completed I-864. I printed these and took them along too then uploaded hard copy 2019 W2 while I waited for my interview to be on the safe side.

Unsure what the difference is dependent on embassy, but my advice is to be more prepared if you can. Better to have the documents to hand if they are asked for than to walk away with a request for more information that just adds to the delays.

Hopefully that's helpful! Good luck :)

While you might have uploaded the documents, it doesn't hurt to bring hard copies as well as updated ones, if any.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
