New card is being produced and next steps?

Hi all,

I just got a notification (email and text) from USCIS today that my card is being produced. And i have some questions regarding what is going to happen next..

First, let me share my timeline at Nebraska Service Center. We filed joint petition:

2/21/20 mailed out packet

2/24/20 USCIS received packet

2/27/20 received NOA

5/13/20 previous fingerprints were applied

12/17/20 New card was ordered and is being produced

My questions:

1) I did hire an attorney. So will the approval notice and green card be mailed to my lawyer's office instead of directly to me?

I remember 2 years ago when I did AOS, my conditional green card was mailed to my lawyer.

2) Will there be a USPS tracking number provided to me? If yes, where can I find this tracking number?

3) How long does it usually take these days for green cards from being ordered to be mailed out?

(I'd assume USPS might delay a bit due to upcoming holidays.)

thanks in advance!

Congratulations. Now take a deep breath and relax.

1. Your card will be mailed to your attorney.

2. No tracking number will be provided, but if you get lucky your myuscis account will be updated showing it's been delivered to the post office.

3. By my calculation, your green card will be delivered 12/24. Depending on delivery service, and your attorney's office being closed for Christmas, you may not have it in hand till the 26th/27th.

Thank you! Did you receive both approval notice and green card or just green card? if you received both, did they come in the same day?

1) Since you used a attorney everything will be mailed to them.

2) No tracking number unfortunately

3) Usually a couple weeks at most but since it's the end of the year it could be alittle longer.

I received my GC in November and USCIS provided a tracking number.

Hi all,

Today I got an email from USCIS telling me my I-751 (Petition to remove conditions on residence) has been approved.

In my mind, the green card will be mailed to my lawyer later because that was what happened 2 years ago when I got the 2-year gc.

But my lawyer told me today actually it will be mailed to me instead. The reason is under part 4 of Form G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative, we didn't check any of the boxes. That means identity documents and notices will be mailed to me. And I read through the G-28 forms my lawyer helped us file, it is true.

I also found the G-28 2 years ago, and one of the boxes was checked telling USCIS to mail green card to my lawyer. So that's why my 2-year gc was mailed lawyer's office.

So for those of you who hired an attorney and had you green card recently, was this the case for you as well? I trust my lawyer and the language on the form, but just wanted to confirm.

Thanks in advance.
