It can take awhile due to the current situation. I know someone who sent their petition the end of October and received their NOA1 last week. As long as you tracked your package and it says delivered you don't have anything to worry about.

I sent mine end of October and am still waiting. this is ridiculous! At what point do I consider it lost?

If you tracked it and it says delivered then it's not lost they are just backedup. I believe there is an inquiry you can submit to the lockbox.

I've done that. No response to my inquiry weeks ago. That is the problem with mine, the post office screwed up my receipt and I have no way to track it. There's no reason to think it wouldn't have gotten there, but still very irritated about that as well.

Thank you everyone!

Hey sorry to ask you a question when this forum is for you to get answers. Im planning to send the whole application out soon, but i was told by the post office all express/air delivery bound for the States is unavailable due to COVID-2019. How did you send out your application with priority?

I just researched your topic and was unable to unearth where Japan is part of the service disruption. Were you told in Japan or the US about a disruption in service?

Thanks for your help!

I dealt with this issue in person when i tried to sent christmas gifts back to my family in the states in December.

The Japan Post is only accepting surface mail (which would take months) due to COVID-2019.

That information can also be found here.

https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/overview_en.html

thus i will have to resort to private couriers that are available in my prefecture.

Was just hoping the poster may have had a good recommendation on what courier to use.

Same situation and FedEx shows delivered on Nov. 5th.  I am really hoping for an update or just to be charged the processing fee this week.  Most government employees should be retuning to work from holiday leave now.
