Wife’s CR-1 ceac status still says ready

Hi everyone. My wife had her interview on the 11th of December, and was approved. They took her Vietnamese passport and told her they would process her visa at the “soonest possible date.” I’m just a bit concerned because ceac has updated twice since then with the status still on “ready” with a language that speaks as if my wife still needs to show up to her interview. Is this something i should be concerned about?

No.  The only language you need to be concerned about is the word REFUSED or DENIED

YMMV

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The ONLY real indication of approval is when the status changes to "Issued".  All visas go through a period of checks and verifications after the interview.

With that being said, is it common for visa’s to be denied during this process? What would be some common reasons for something like that to happen?

The most common reason for a tourist visa to be denied is due to lack of ties to the home country.

It took 12 business days for my wife to get her immigrant visa. We’ll be flying back to the states this weekend if anyone is curious about the processing time.
