Welcome Kara! I'm more of a Moroccan K-1 expert than anything else, but hopefully you will find some answers here. You probably have a bit of a wait ahead of you, so be prepared, but all you have to do is look at our cheerleading and welcome to america threads and you'll see that you *will* come out on the other side.

Welcome to VJ Kara,

Wishing you all the best on your processing.

Hello, welcome to VJ and congratulations on your marriage. I've found it's important for Farid and I to spend as much time online with eachother as possible. That helps me tremdously. And keep yourself super busy. I've started "spring" cleaning my home. Really gutting everything and organizing and it keeps my mind off the waitng. Also for me it helps to think...today is the last March 29th. I'll ever have to live without my love. Because once this process is completed and we're together we'll never ever have to be apart again. I hope that helps a bit. I feel your pain!

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I sure hope this is the last one. Marriage visas seem to take about a year just to get an interview in Morocco. I hope yours goes faster, but don't bet on it. If you look at the timelines on here it is about 325 days between first and second NOA. In 1999 when I filed for my last husband, it took almost exactly a year to get the second NOA.

Hello Mrs Z and welcome to VJ. You have found the right spot to help you and support you through your immigration journey. I went through the K-1 process through Morocco so I can not be helpful to you in that respect but I can be here to cheer you on. Missing our loved ones is so terrible and it might become easier and it might not but I hope it does for you until your husband is right here by your side again. May your journey be short and fast!!!!

Welcome Mrs. Z. I'm Layla and pretty new here too. I had some experience with the Cairo government last year when I met my husband there. I thought it was going to be such an easy process and thought I really had everything worked out before leaving.. the plan was to arrive there and have our religous ceremony that night and then the next day we would go get our marriage certificate and file the I-130 there at the embassy and was even hoping that he'd get his interview while we were still in town. We didn't get past the religous ceremony because of all the running around we had to do trying to get everything we needed just to get the marriage certificate. Needless to say we didn't even bother wasting our time. After three weeks I came home and filed our I-129F and I'm actually grateful for the Egyptian govt being such a pain because from what I hear it's faster to get the fiance visa anyway. :P I have talked to an atty about this though and I believe if you have proof that you submitted that I-130 then you can also submit an I-129F and he can come faster on that and then wait here for the other to be approved. I may have misunderstood though so maybe someone else here has experience with that? Well good luck and inshallah we'll all be with our DHs soon (L)

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in awhile but I have a couple updates. I got my NOA1 from my I-130 and sent in my I-129F two days ago, alhamdulillah. So all I have left to do is keep waiting at this point. I'm also going to Egypt for a visit leaving July 1 inshallah. Being away from my husband is soooooooooooo difficult. Some days are just horrible! I'm sure most of you guys can relate. Question...do you ever find yourselves picking fights just because you're frustrated from it all? I've picked like three fights in the past week with Mohamed. Last night I asked him if his life would be easier if I'd just "go away". I made the man cry. How horrible am I? Then he asked if MY life would be easier if HE would go away. Then I cry. So the two of us are crying like babies. Then he tells me about his cousin's wife getting pregnant. We start to talking about birth control and he asked if I was back on it or will be by the time I get to Egypt. He doesn't want me to get pregnant before he gets here. I get upset because in my mind the birth control talk means he doesn't want me to EVER get pregnant. So I tell him..maybe I'll get a tubal ligation and you'll never have to worry about me getting pregnant!!! OMG...am I a lunatic or what? This distance and waiting is making me CRAZY!!!!!! Ok thanks for bearing with my rant. :crying::help::blush::whistle:

Welcome to VJ, Mrs. Z... I'm also a fellow Michigander from the Midland/Bay City/Saginaw area... my love is a Brit living in Germany and we're awaiting our NOA2 for our K1...

You're not alone in the types of conversations you've been having... trust me. The distance doesn't get any easier, but you'll figure out the whole communication thing. Just remember that you're on the same team and have the same goal... you'll get through it. We all will.

We mght lose some of our sanity along the way, but we'll get there.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Me and Yacine talk about the birth control thing all the time.. It's normal... It's not that he doesnt want you to get pregnant ever, at least that's what me-thinks... it's better to get through the paper process and to get settled into life here.. then have kids :)

btw I'm from detroit too :)
