Hello all.  I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

My fiancee and I are finishing up our K1 Visa application, and we have a lot of documents especially for proof of relationship.

How much maximum weight will the US Government allow for the K1 Visa application.

Thank you,

CeboMap

They don't publish such guidelines.  However,  if you are asking this question,  you probably are submitting too much.

Depending on consulate,  proof of relationship with the petition is a waste of paper because it is not required.

YMMV

Maybe too much but proof of relationship is definitely required. Save you so much to front load them. That way they have enough evidence even before your interview as you will still need to take more evidences with you to your interview. We frontloaded and during interview ofcourse I went ready with a file load of evidence but non was checked because the office said he had all the evidence he needed in the file sent from NVC

so be double prepared. But all documents and evidences at this point shouldn't be more than one big size envelope. If that makes sense. Lol.

NOT REQUIRED.   Do NOT confuse optional with required.   Two very different things.

YMMV

Nope.  Note required for the petition.

The reason why we have a lot of proof to send is because we only met one time late last year and intended to meet this year but covid ruined that.  So we had to take pictures of our video calls anytime we did a video call to prove we are in a legitimate relationship.  We did get engaged very recently and the proof of that is part of our documents.

If you were to google for the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) instructions and you took the liberty of reading it, it does not ask for any weight for evidence. It ask for the following and this is what most have been approved have sent. I personally followed these instructions and was approved without a problem.

Evidence for Petitions to Classify a Fiancé(e) as a K-1 Nonimmigrant In addition to the evidence described above, you must submit evidence of:

A. Intention to Marry Within 90 Days of Entry. Submit evidence that you and your fiancé(e) intend to marry within 90 days of your fiancé(e)’s entry as a K-1 nonimmigrant. Evidence of your intention to marry may include statements of intent to marry signed by both you and your fiancé(e) or any other evidence that establishes, by a preponderance of the evidence, your mutual intention; and

B. In-Person Meeting. Submit evidence that you and your fiancé(e) met in person during the 2-year period immediately before you filed this petition. Evidence of this meeting may include, but is not limited to, a written statement from you and/or your fiancé(e) stating the circumstances of your meeting, a copy of airline tickets, passport pages, or other evidence. If you believe you qualify for an exception to the in-person meeting requirement, submit evidence in support of the exception.

If you claim that the in-person meeting requirement would result in extreme hardship to you, submit evidence to support your claim.

If you claim that the in-person meeting requirement would violate strict and long-established customs of your fiancé(e)’s foreign culture or social practice, include evidence that any and all aspects of the traditional arrangements have been or will be met in accordance with the custom or practice.

Term mix-up but still good to add them. , if you have it give it. Maybe not too much to think of weight but add some kind of evidence( and I am sure passport stamps of visit are evidence,so don't know why I won't add that to show I traveled to the place which proofs meeting in person).

Passport stamps are evidence of meeting which IS required.

This is for the Vietnamese Consulate.  My fiancee is from Vietnam

For a K-1, relationship evidence is not required, but sometimes it is helpful if there are red flags that may be cause for increased scrutiny.  Are there any red flags in your case, such as a big age gap, past K-1 or CR-1 applications, visa denials, overstays, deportations, relationship arranged by family members, etc.?  I'm not sure about Vietnam and what is needed there for a K-1, others can comment on that.  If a country has a high K-1 denial rate then optional evidence might help if it is of good quality, but focus more on quality than quantity.  Good luck!

May be required for Lagos, certainly not for many other consulates.
