Hey all,
We filed our Application for Removing Conditions on Residency within 90 days, but towards the later part of it. The application should have been received about a week before the expiration date on the green card. Now the green card is expired and we don't have the notice of acceptance letter.
Are we supposed to do something or should we just keep waiting?

Thank you.

Relax, this is not a race.

keep waiting, takes 5 to 6 weeks now to see any movement. Patience is key to a happy existence at this point in your life.

Avoid encounters with law enforcement until you get the NOA1.

You are in a limbo status until then.

Stay away from the Mexican border too so that you are not caught by an CBP internal check point.

If you must leave the house, leave with proof that you’ve sent your I-751.

Thank you we live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I don't think we will be going to any of the places you mentioned.

Thank you. We are in no hurry anywhere, thankfully. We can wait, as long as we are not "out of status" or anything like that just because USCIS is slow and taking its sweet time with the excuse of "holidays".

Thank you HRQX. Yeah, I think we followed all the rules and did not do anything that can affect our LPR. We just filed towards the end of the 90-day filing period, it is because we had a baby and could not go anywhere for about two months due to health precautions of the newborn baby and the mom, coupled with COVID19 threats. Otherwise I had the application ready at the end of September, but decided to wait until the baby is born, so that she is also on the application.

Relax, this is not a race.

You could try reaching out to the Ombudsman office if you can't get USCIS to respond in a timely manner. https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

thank you. i have been asked to reach out for any kind of help and support, if needed by our senator's office at the time of our marriage. I mean I have good friends there who are willing to help (not just me, but all of our citizens). But I am not sure if I should even bother them with this situation. + we are not rushing anywhere....
We are OK as long as USCIS sends us their magic letter....

I would rather you have the letter on hand in case you need it for whatever reason. Your senator's office can help too. I was stuck back in April when they had all the office closures and my letter didn't come till June. It was very frustrating!

Sorry about your experience and thank you for your advise. I read on November filers thread that someone is doing an info-pass to obtain proof of status/pending extension (or whatever the proper name is). I think it is a good idea, we might do it if we don't get the actual letter in a month or so.

Info pass is only valid for a year though, while the extension letter is for 18 months. And you don't have to go in person for extension letter! You should get your letter once you reach out to either your senator or the Ombudsman office. Lots of people have that experience :) Good luck!

Yeah, I don't think they'll be excited to see us there with 5 kids either. They better send us the damn letter. 😂😂😂

They are waiting on proof of status. The conditional resident is still a LPR.

Only an Immigration Judge can revoke LPR status.

https://www.philipcurtislaw.com/news/2018/2/22/consequences-of-filing-your-i-751-late disagrees.  Regardless we will be filing our I-751 exactly 90 days before the green card expires.
