My case approved to poland too..but just worried about schegen..do we really have to worry about it ..

My understanding is you can get a Schengen visa to any Schengen country, it doesn't have to be specifically to Poland? It's just a matter of being able to legally enter the Schengen zone and then make your way to Poland after that.

Hello!
Yesterday we received a positive response from Poland too.  Visa CR1.

When was your case documentarily qualified for an interview? Do you know if the medical exam will have to be in Poland or the Embassy in Poland will allow you to do the medical exam in Russia?

Когда ваше дело было документально квалифицировано для собеседования? Вы знаете, нужно ли проходить медицинский осмотр в Польше или посольство в Польше разрешит вам пройти медицинское обследование в России?

DQ was in September 2020.  I haven't  answer about medical exam. I will be looking. Do you have information about this ?

No information about the medical exam, which is why we haven't tried to transfer. I am hoping that as a part of the Embassy's commitment to "make arrangements" for cases that do not qualify for emergency processing in Moscow,  they will allow people to go through the medical exam in Moscow, as it could be challenging for people who do not speak English to schedule them and will likely mean an extended stay in Poland. Have they given you the interview date yet?

They didn't talk about the date of the interview. They said we should wait.

I would just like to update you guys that today in the morning we got our new WRW case number from Warsaw, Poland. But I called the NVC to ask for it because today I tried to check our status on CEAC and this time it didn't work. I didn't see the usual " At NVC." So, I decided to call the NVC(was on hold for 1hr 30mins) and they confirmed we got a new WRW case number 🥳. Now, we must wait for an email for further instructions 🙂. Man, what a roller coaster it's been.

How long have you been waiting for this message about the transfer of your case?

Around 10 days, when I noticed our MOS number wasn't working anymore so I called the NVC and they gave me a new WRW number.

As of now, the Embassy in Poland requests that you do the medical exam in Warsaw. It's not complicated, but it does take about 4-5 business days for the results to be entered in the system, so you have to plan ahead and stay in Warsaw for at least a week.

Who knows, maybe eventually they will figure something out to simplify this process for Russian transfer cases...

A little update. The fiancé  got a schengen visa to Greece , flew to Athens , slept there in a beautiful place, next day took a plane to Warsaw , rented apartment for 1 month in Warsaw . Then planned appointment with a doctor, did all tests and now waiting for the interview date. It was very simple and adventurous , but costly. Visa to Greece - 200$, Ticket to Athens - 500$, ticket to warsaw - 100$, airbnb in warsaw - 500$, medical exam and vaccinations -  about 240 $, eating and transport in warsaw - about 700$ + (still there)….
Now we should think of air tickets to the States. Initially we thought of business class , but with all that spending maybe it will be economy 😄

I may be in a similar situation soon. I'm from the US and my fiance is Russian. I believe Poland is closed for the US because of covid, but it sounds like it's open for Russians? Does this mean your fiance had to travel alone?
