Mike & Elena,

This is NVC related question. The following link will be helpful for you. But you can check with you NVC for sure, as they can change requirement at any time.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1308.html

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Thank you but,

The above web site does not seperate what documents must be submitted with the 230 to NVC and which documents must be taken to the Embassy. I want to use Jame's shortcut for the final step but I must know what the documents are required with the NVC submission in order not to delay the process.

The NVC instructions to the choice of agent will be very clear. Please read the "Documents You Need to Obtain" carefully, as those are the documents the visa applicant needs to take with during the immigrant visa interview. Again, the Embassy Interview letter will instructs the visa applicant in details. This section is worth reading and you should start obtaining those documents.

Usually, you need to send DS 230 part I and copy of the beneficiary's passport biographic information pages to NVC. You should call NVC and confirm whether it is still the requirement for the visa applicant's country.

Packet 3 and Packet 4 are available for d/l on the Kiev website. You must decipher through what is K-1 specific and what is IR1/CR1 specific and what is common to both but it is out there......

YMMV

Kiev is Appointment Processing as far as I can see, so you'll need more than just the bio page of the passport. But, if you go to the link and click Kyiv all will be explained :)

I think it's easy enough to see what documents to send to the NVC for CR-1, but I'm still not sure if the Kyiv embassy instructions are up to date, because they ask for many of the same documents that are sent to NVC. So I can't tell if we need to get another copy of these or not. I guess in the interest of safety it would be good to have a backup of each thing anyway though.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

Hi Lovers, Erica's answer contained all the answers except the one you brought up about the KEV-1 document required in the Ukraine being up to date. My wife will in the next few recieve those instructions and I will post them for your information. Our timelines seem pretty close together. Thank you for the post.... Mike

Thanks, Mike! Yes...I'm curious to see what changes to this process there have been, because I had an older version of the packet 3 and 4 that I downloaded before the call center was put in. Then I've also seen this newer version, but the new version didn't seem to take into account the changes in what is submitted to the NVC for a CR-1 visa. Anyway, best of luck on your journey!!!
