He would need to quarantine for 2 weeks, Mexico is popular.

What? Why would he need to quarantine. It’s a layover flight. He left Morocco. Now is in Madrid and they are telling him his visa isn’t good enough. He needs permission from embassy. No other Moroccan person that I know of had this problem

Spain is subject to the travel ban. K1 is not an exception.

Ideally, when the staff at the check in counter in Morocco saw that he was transiting through a Schengen state and his final destination was the US, they should have also realized the problems your fiancé would have.

I am also sorry for the OP's issues.  ^^ This is absolutely true.  I am surprised he was allowed to board the flight to Madrid.

Why would Madrid have flights to jfk? For us citizens only?

Yes...as well as spouses and others who are exempt from the travel ban.  I am sorry for this situation..

Thanks lucky. Morocco should have caught this, you are right. I’m not surprised they didn’t though. 😭

Ordinarily he could transit through Canada with a valid US visa but at this time  that is not even so

If he is still at the airport in Spain,  is it possible to buy a ticket to Mexico?

If not,  he'll need to return to Morocco

and rebook for later date or Mexico

so sorry as he only has 24 hours to transit from the airport
