Hello, my beneficiary’s home was broken into and she believes the passport was taken during this time.

Currently, we have received NOA2 and the file is at NVC. Embassy is not reviewing or is backlogged in K1, so I think we have a good few months before going in for interview. She is going to apply to get a new passport through the required procedure in her home country.

Question: Is there any specific update or procedure required from our end for the K1 process with respect to the new passport?

Your detailed response is appreciated!

Thanks!

Nothing needs to be updated.  When the time comes, fill in the passport information on the ds160

YMMV

Follow up question:

I have received a letter that my case has been sent from NVC to Mumbai now and have not received the replacement passport.

Is it ok to go ahead and fill in the DS160 with the previous passport information to get things rolling and update it at the stage when at the embassy with the new passport information?

Note: we have to file a police report in India to get the replacement passport which was dated for yesterday. Would this matter if DS-160 was filled in after this date with the old passport info?
